At the Jazz Bakery

It's New Year's Eve and we are ringing it in at the Jazz Bakery in Culver City. Expect more straight ahead material than usual - I'm still breaking in the new upright.

This nonprofit venue often features artists that are a little further from the commercial viability usually associated with Smooth Jazz. In addition, the lobby features art by local artists.

Happy New Year!

David and Clark at the Pro Tools Rig

Today I'm at Paramount recording studio in Hollywood. We're recording for David's new album. Apparently he loves the piano Steinway has provided since he compares it to a fine wine!

I'm wrestling a bit with my new upright bass which I purchased a week ago, but since it needed a few repairs it was in the shop until yesterday. So I'm having to adjust from a 3/4 size to a 7/8 while the record button is lit...

More to come.

Monday Morning

Hello world,

It's monday morning at 6:21 am and I am so ready to start a new week. Who knows what great accomplishments are hiding in the future, soon to become history?

Today's food for thought: How old would you be if you didn't know how old you were?

Ciao,

DH
